Karina Cardona (www.karinacardona.com) is a LA based fashion designer with Colombian roots whose passion for making innovative contributions to the industry are defined by her humble beginnings. In 2009 after graduating from FIDM, Los Angeles with a Fashion Product Development Major, she joined the fashion industry working for multiple start-ups as an assistant designer and working at full package manufacturing companies as a production manager’s assistant. Feeling confident and motivated with the experience gained in the field she decided her passion in design could continue to develop. This led her to return to school this time in Colombia where she studied Fashion Design and Patternmaking in La Salle International College in Barranquilla and ultimately allowed her to truly make her debut as designer in the fashion industry. Here she was given the opportunity to become part of runway shows organized and hosted by the school as a student showcase. Some of her most recognizable contributions to fashion are her collaboration with Colombian photographer Ezequiel Buelvas, known as Black Widow which was published on May 28th 2015 by B-Authentique Online Magazine.
In her relentless pursuit of continual growth and tapping into her creative spirit, Karina is currently leading design and production at an LA based all immigrant Production House.
